School Uniform

We value the importance of a school uniform for our children at Fordley as it helps to reinforce the sense of belonging to our Fordley Family as well as helping prepare children for their future education and life.

We understand that school uniform can be expensive so we do not expect any family to buy uniform with our school logo on.  Plain and polo neck white T-shirts, burgundy jumpers or cardigans and black shorts can be purchased from most supermarkets.

Our school uniform includes:

  • a white polo shirt, black/grey trousers/skirt (not leggings) and a burgundy jumper/cardigan (winter)
  • Red gingham dresses are allowed and grey shorts (summer option)
  • Children do not have to wear uniform with the school logo on
  • Plain flat black shoes or trainers and socks. Sandals with socks are permitted in the summer months
  • A watch only is permitted (no smart watches)

Our PE kit includes:

  • plain white T-shirt
  • plain black shorts
  • plain black or grey tracksuit bottoms (winter)

On PE days, children come to school in their PE kit.

Health and Safety

As part of our uniform policy, to minimise the risk of accidents, we ask that:

  • no earrings are worn to school at any time (earring retainers can be worn if absolutely necessary)
  • no footwear with heels (flat shoes/trainers only)
  • long hair is tied back

Uniform Suppliers

We have a school uniform bank on our school site (through the double gates next to the caretaker's cottage) and all donated uniform can be ordered through Community Clothing Scheme for free.

The phone number is 0191 3233609.  For order pickups it is 18 Villas in Cramlington.  It has to be a prearranged pickup however they will also do drop off at schools for families when they pick up the donations from the donation banks.

If you wish to buy uniform with our school logo on, this can be done by visiting Emblematic and delivery to school is free.
