Before School Child Care Provision (formerly Breakfast Club)

Before School Childcare (formerly Breakfast Club)

Who can use this provision?

Until October half term (at the earliest) this will be available for parents/carers who need the childcare for work reasons only.  This is because we will need to keep the numbers as low as possible as we will not be able to have all the children in the hall has we have done before.

How do I book a place?

If you need to book a place for your child at Before School Childcare, we will need to know a week in advance which days your child will be in the childcare provision.  You can do this by emailing office@fordleyprimary.org.uk

If you do not need a place yet, but may in future, all we ask is that you email the week before you require a place to let us know which days.

When and where can I drop my child off?

Children attending Before School Childcare can be brought to school between 8:00 – 8:15 (car park will be open until 8:15).

They will need to be taken (by an adult) to the following locations depending on their year groups (see map):

  • Nursery ramp (Nursery children only)
  • Reception decking (Reception children only)
  • KS1 doors (Year 1 and Year 2 children only)
  • KS2 door (Year 3-Year 6 children only)

They will be signed in at these locations by a member of school staff.  This is because we must comply with test, track and trace regulations.

Access will be via the gates from the car park past Nursery and Reception (see map).

Once you have dropped your child off, please continue to walk around the perimeter of the school past the gym and the kitchen back out to the car park.  This will help us to continue to promote appropriate social distancing.

Please note:

  • Children can only attend Before School Childcare if this is needed because you need to be at a place of work for a specific time (if you are working from home or do not start work until later in the day, I would request that you bring your child to school from 8:30am)
  • Doors will open at 8:00am and not before
  • Doors will close at 8:15am (this is to ensure we have a gap in time before the rest of the school can start to arrive from 8:30am)
  • Your child must be handed over to a school member of staff at their allocated door by an adult
  • Breakfast will be available in class from 8:30 for all children, should they wish to have it (taking into account any known allergies)

We fully appreciate your support in putting these measures into place for the safety of your child, your family and our school staff.  We will review them at October half term to see if any changes need to be made.

COLLECTION FROM AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS - IMPORTANT INFORMATION - All after school clubs collections will be from outside the main school entrance so please turn up at the collection time for your child (to avoid having lots of people waiting around outside of the building). The only access point will be through the front gates for safeguarding reasons. No other external gates will be open (e.g. the gates to the line) - this is because our afterschool childcare children have supervised access to our yard and field and it would not be safe to leave other gates open. Please remember to wear a face mask on site where possible and, unless your child is in Y6 and has permission to walk home, we will expect an adult to collect every child. Thank you for your support with this so that we can ensure safety for all.
